I’ve only met Jesrhel once. It’s a shame I wasn’t able to get to talk to her much then. Perhaps we’ll meet again very soon. Count on that.

Don’t be mistaken. It usually is not easy to find time to connect with people. It always requires us to set time aside for it. I’m sure you know what I mean.

Whenever another year ends, we must choose to be always young again. Never give up your freedom to imagine and affect change. Stand grounded to aid others when they fall. Fail by pushing boundaries and bounce back stronger. Oftentimes, only the next step ahead is lit. The path of the proud and sure-footed will lead to nowhere.
When all things end, the legendary lives forever.

An unexpected trip to a beautiful place I haven’t been to in several years. An unusual way to end a year but a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice meeting you Edric, Paul, Bjorn, Danika, Vern, David and Lissa. :)

Sheer loose polo sponsored by Silay clothing. A lightweight cover-up is something every girl should have in their closets, especially if you live in a tropical country.

Yesterday, I attended the presscon for Weddings & Debuts 2012 Bridal Fair. I got invited as a blogger, thankfully the venue is at north for a change. Almost all blog events I go to are very far from home. Despite the location, it was my first time to go to Plaza Ibarra; it’s so beautifully decorated. Moe and I were the last ones to leave because we couldn’t stop taking photos haha.

As for the outfit, well… I opted to wear something casual that gives off “yuppie” vibes. Ever since I turned 19 (last month), I’ve been thinking of updating my wardrobe and buying more structured pieces that look professional which I’m sure I’ll be wearing more often after I graduate (next year na! haha). Fortunately, I’m still at that age where I can simultaneously wear pa-sweet and pa-serious outfits.

I’ll blog about the event soon and I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to stick to my New Year’s blog resolution which is: update more often. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

edricchen:

When all the doors are barred shut, look for windows.

Open doors are too easy to walk through. The problem is that if a person keeps on taking the easy way, there is no growth to be had.

Windows are different. Windows require you to climb and to jump. If it’s closed, take out your axe and do the work. Almost any window can be forced open. People don’t use windows to get to places because it’s too inconvenient. Do it anyway.

Adversity makes a person learn how to frame situations and opportunities differently. In the end, you will end up stronger and will gain a fresher perspective.

Stop waiting for people to open doors for you. Smash those windows. If you get hurt, wear your scars proud. It’s not being proud to be better than anyone else, but being proud that you were able to best the odds. Be proud that you didn’t quit when it got tough.

Give me back those broken pieces and I will assemble them into a beautiful work of art. There is beauty in adversity. In every war, heroes must reach a point of no return where they have no choice but to press on. Without that point, no true song of triumphant victory can be sung.

We, the young, must do our part. Curses can be broken if we stand together.

They are some of the awesome bloggers I met during the Bloggers United x Moonleaf Pop-up bazaar for the benefit of typhoon Sendong victims. No detailed post about the event yet. I’m still in holiday hibernation mode (read: pigging out + sleeping all day) even though I badly need to catch up on backlogs. I’ll get back to them soon.

And yes, I turned 19 last Friday. Thank you so much to everyone who greeted me! :) I even received a cellphone call from one of my bestest friends who’s currently in Bahrain. God, I miss her so much. :’)

Happy holidays everyone! Hope you’re having a blast. xx

This outfit is a lucky charm. I placed runner up and won 3k worth of gift certificate from Accessorize Philippines with this entry for their About the Bag contest. And the first one of my 5 looks to get 100+ hypes on Lookbook is, guess what, this look. I’ve a confession to make though… I’ve only worn this outfit for the sake of shooting it.

So yes, please don’t shun me and stick an “outfit repeater” note on my back when you see me wear this again in events. And since I’m all about maximizing my resources (and luck) I joined another contest and if it isn’t too much to ask, can you please register here then comment “Like!” on my entry here. It’s my 19th birthday on Friday (I think that’s enough reason to help me win gorgeous shoes from Gold Dot hihihi). *bats eyelashes* :p

On a more serious note, if you’re a friend of mine on Facebook you’d notice how I’ve been sharing photos and such on how people can help the victims of typhoon Sendong. I hope I didn’t irk anyone… I just couldn’t help it, to think that there are people in need of help and I’m at home just being a fat ass all day, the least thing I can do is share them on my wall, but even that isn’t enough help.

Thankfully, Bloggers United & Moonleaf is holding a garage sale and 50% of the proceeds will aid SENDONG victims. I’ll be selling some stuff together with your other favorite fashion/beauty bloggers, brands and personalities. Please Drop by at Moonleaf Tea Shop Maginhawa street, Quezon City on Friday, 12/23/11, 10am-6pm. Some of the stuff I’ll sell include leopard print bag and leggings, snake skin print leggings, sheer floral dress, 2way floral vest, books and accessories, all below 500php each. You can bring your donations too. See you there! :)

(CLOSED) Christmas Giveaway Part 2

This is the 2nd part of my 3 part Christmas giveaway. In solidarity with the victims of typhoon Sendong in some parts of Mindanao, we decided to revise the mechanics so we can promote a donation campaign.

You just have to follow the contest guidelines, one of them is sharing the campaign poster on your Facebook wall and you’ll get a chance to win these:

1 flag bag and 1 statement necklace from Cruella & Co!

Thank you so much to Camille Chan for sponsoring the prizes. :) You don’t have to donate to join this giveaway contest but any donation will be highly appreciated.

I slept at 6am (to finish a website project) and woke up at around 2pm today (not good! I should’ve drank coffee). I still have tons of plates to finish for our finals week, my reward for procrastinating. When will I stop believing that I can finish all the things (insert meme here) in just a short period of time? /wrist

The only reason why I’m still sane is my super loving boyfriend (mehganon?) he’s been really sweet and thoughtful lately that it makes me wonder if we have a healthy relationship. We’ve been together for more than 4 years but I think we’re still in the “honeymoon stage” (you know that stage where couples say I love you at least 10x a day, argues who hangs up the phone first and everything just feels shiny and new) kalerkey!!

Anyway, here’s a pretty laid back outfit that’s perfect for the bipolar weather. We actually shot these photos during an on and off drizzle. Moe and I would come back to the roofed area whenever it started pouring again and take photos when it stops.

Those gorgeous shoes (I really love the brocade detail and structured heel) are unbelievably comfortable. You wouldn’t even notice you’re already falling; they are that light. The taupe and black long sleeve romper is another ukay-ukay (thrift store) find. As for the lovely accessories, I’d like to thank Mika of Maris Unique Pieces and Jessica of The Bling Project for giving me these early presents. :)

By the way guys, I got invited as a guest (blogger) in The Suplado Show, an Internet radio talk show on Dig Radio (formerly NU107) hosted by comedian & TV host Stanley Chi. I hope you can tune in tomorrow night, here’s a quick guide how:

1. Go to www.digradio.ph every Monday, 9 to 11 p.m.
2. Click on the “watch” button.
3. A new window will open. (Make sure your browser allows pop-up windows.)
4. In the new window, look for the Suplado Show on the left sidebar. Click “listen” right under it.
5. Live streaming will then start and you can watch the Suplado Show live.
6. You may send in requests, greetings, and violent reactions to 09174883396 or call (02) 2180897. You may also chat with Stanley and other guests by clicking on the “chat” button right under the video streaming.

I’ll put some free stuff up for grabs to lucky callers! Feel free to send requests and greetings. It would really mean a lot to me. :) :)

Champagne Supernova

I like big bags and I cannot lie. I can freely stuff my school things, umbrella, kikay paraphernalia etc. inside without any worries. My boyfriend even started calling my everyday bag, the “magic bag” like the one Mary Poppins has. But big bags can only do so much. I needed a medium sized bag that’s perfect for dates, casual lunches with friends, family dinners and the likes. Since almost all of my bags are extra large, I had no choice but to use them even if I’m only bringing a few stuff, hence giving me unnecessary weight to carry. But that was the case until the Accessorize event where they gave me this lovely, Birkin lookalike bag.

It’s so dainty no? I really love the soft pink hue. During the event when I picked this bag, Anne told me that it suits me really well. I was unconvinced at first because I’m a huge sucker for giant brown leather bags nga. It’s very unlikely for me to own a light colored bag and a medium at that. But after using it a few times, I realized that it was what’s missing on my bag selection. A dainty, medium sized bag that can be casual or formal.

For this look I decided to channel Abby out of the four new collections of Accessorize for Autumn/Winter 2011 because it’s the closest to my personal style. Abby is described as “an eclectic array of new and old, with inspiration drawn from vintage travel postcards, taxidermy, old script typography and antique collectables. Preppy heritage takes a stroll with bohemian grunge – think Nicole Richie and the Olsen twins. Clock faces, tapestry, patchwork and brocade all make for key element of this autumn look, as do semi-precious stone jewellery and elegant pearls. Dipped in animal prints and new camouflaged florals, Abby is eccentric and frivolously wild.”

I hope you like my look as much as I do! I was just a bit unsure with the shoes (it was a last minute choice) but I think I pulled it off and check out the surprise scallop skirt underneath. I got it at a tiangge for only 350php, pink midi skirt from a thrift store (less than 80php, le ukay-ukay wonders), I bought the floral bustier online, boots from my gran in Canada, and of course the bag is a gift from Accessorize.

We’re preparing for our finals week and I have tons of plates to do which explains the lack of updates but I’ll be back real soon loves. Thank you so much to Moe for taking time out from her busy schedule so we can shoot these gorgeous photos and also to Accessorize! Here’s a photo set I made featuring some of their beautiful bags. :)
